trees
I liked climbing trees as a kid. Often Lai neighbors would warn us if we climb we would fall down. I ignored their heeds. I knew my ability. We had several Mango trees, tamarind tree, coconut tree and banana trees in our yard. Banana trees are not good for climbing. Even playing in them (they grow in clusters was a bad idea as my clothes get stained black. The coconut tree was difficult to climb the older I got. I would also get scratches on my belly from coming down. Most of the Mango trees were too tall. We had one or two claimable. The favorite fun tree we liked playing in was the tamarind tree. I liked eating the young leaves that had a sour flavor and the young tamarind fruits that had yet to develop the seeds. We even had a tree house built in it. I read books up there, played, just hung around. Until one day I got ticks from that tree. Later on I also found ticks again. That really put a damper on the tree fun. I no longer wanted to go up this amazing tree. It saddened me.
We also had a eucalyptus tree that was much too smooth and tall to climb up. It also seemed to have microscopic thorns or something. I noticed that the grass around the tree would die from the dead leaves that dropped. Don't play in the elephant ear grass... You will experience an afternoon of itchy skin all over your body.
Not worth it.
